Il Corriere dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia report Bologna have sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Rossoblu have earned three points in five Serie A games so far this season and are one of the six clubs without victories in 2022-23.

Bologna haven’t yet made an official statement, but growing reports suggest the decision has been made.

First Il Corriere dello Sport and now Sky Sport Italia report Mihajlovic is no longer the Rossoblu cach.

The former defender is still battling against leukaemia which was diagnosed for the second time in less than three years in March.

Mihajlovic was appointed as Bologna coach for the first time in 2008 and returned to the club in 2019, months before the first leukaemia diagnosis.

He won 43 of his 130 games in charge of the Rossoblu.

Thiago Motta, Paulo Sousa, Claudio Ranieri and Roberto De Zerbi are being mentioned as possible replacements for the 53-year-old.

According to Sky Sport, Motta is the leading candidate to take over at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

  1. Sad day for Sinisa. He gave Bologna an attacking, high work rate that meant NOBODY in the league went to Dall’Ara confident of taking points home.

  2. Hopefully this gives him time to properly concentrate on recovery. He’s a coach that could go on for many more years and a man who deserves to.
