Manchester United aren’t the only club to have made a bid for Marko Arnautovic this summer, as Juventus were also linked, but Bologna are refusing to sell even after his reported request.

The 33-year-old has found a new lease of life at the Stadio Dall’Ara after returning to Europe from two years in China.

He scored 14 goals in 33 Serie A appearances last season and Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and The Athletic all report that Manchester United have made an offer for the Austria international.

Although the bid at €8m (£7.2m) is close to the valuation of €10m, it is still not enough to convince Bologna to part with their centre-forward.

The Rossoblu have said repeatedly this summer that Arnautovic is not for sale at any price, being a key figure in their squad.

Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was asked about the rumour after a shock 2-1 home defeat in the Premier League to Brighton and Hove Albion today.

“I don’t go into names. In this pre-season, 250 players are linked with Man United,” he said in the press conference.
