Bologna are reportedly in talks to sign highly-rated Celtic talent Rocco Vata in the coming weeks, ahead of his contract expiration in the summer.

The Rossoblu have been flying high under coach Thiago Motta this term and currently find themselves fifth in the Serie A table at the halfway point of the season, sitting just a point behind fourth place Fiorentina.

The Bologna squad has an average age of just under 25, with a number of impressive younger players like Joshua Zirkzee and Lewis Ferguson playing a key role behind the club’s strong form this season.

As reported by Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, Bologna are currently in talks with Celtic and their teenage forward Vata, keen on a definitive transfer in the coming weeks. The 18-year-old’s contract in Scotland expires in the summer.

Atalanta, Frosinone and Sampdoria are all also interested in the Irish forward, who would cost around €400,000 in training bonuses.

For the Celtic B team, Vata has scored 24 goals and provided one assist in 44 games in all competitions. He’s already made four appearances for the first team.
