Bologna are working hard to secure a loan deal for Roma forward Eldor Shomurodov and there has already been significant progress in the negotiations.

The 27-year-old Uzbek struggled for consistent playing time last season under Jose Mourinho, only making five Serie A starts as he failed to make a strong impression on the Portuguese coach. Bologna have been looking to sign a new forward and after missing out on Pisa’s Lorenzo Lucca to Ajax, they’ve now switched their focus to Shomurodov.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Bologna and Roma have agreed to a loan deal with a buy option attached for Shomurodov, and now the two parties are discussing the figures of the transfer.

Things are moving fast and both parties are optimistic of reaching a deal early next week, keen to finalise things ahead of the rapidly approaching season.

In his debut season in Rome, Shomurodov scored five goals and provided six assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

  1. So sorry to see Eldor leave. Such a kind and modest person. He wasn’t given a proper chance because Tammy played WAAAY too much.
But since Abraham performs well & has no injury problems, let’s keep fielding Tammy in all competitions and enjoy him to the fullest before his return to Chelsea next year.
