Scotland international Lewis Ferguson has returned to training on the pitch, exciting his current and former teammates, including Riccardo Calafiori and Joshua Zirkzee.

Ferguson hopes to return to action in November after recovering from a knee injury he sustained in the last part of the 2023-24 campaign.

Bologna have published a video on Instagram showing the midfielder’s progress on and off the pitch and writing: ‘Things we love to see.’

The big news is that the Scotland international has returned to working on the pitch, although he is still training separately.

The video published by the Rossoblu on Instagram also shows Sam Beukema and Dan Ndoye enjoying their teammate’s training session in the first person.

On the other hand, Ex-Bologna stars Calafiori and Zirkzee reacted from afar with heart and love emojis.

Calafiori joined Arsenal last summer, while Zirkzee signed for Manchester United.

Ferguson, 25, scored six goals and four assists in 31 Serie A appearances last season to help Bologna qualify for the Champions League. The Scotland international has recently signed a contract extension until June 2029.
