Serie A side Bologna said goodbye to Joshua Zirkzee after the striker completed a permanent transfer to Manchester United: ‘We’ll never forget these emotions.’

Manchester United have officially acquired Dutch striker Zirkzee from Bologna, and the Rossoblu paid tribute to their ex-forward on social media.

Bologna shared some of the best moments from Zirkzee’s time at the Stadio Dall’Ara, starting with celebrations for qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in over 60 years.

“Thank you, Joshua, and good luck with your career. We’ll never forget these emotions,” Bologna wrote on Instagram.

Zirkzee replied with red and blue hearts and the infinity symbol.

The Dutch forward, who made his senior Netherlands debut at EURO 2024, also wrote a message for Bologna after United confirmed his signing on July 14.

Zirkzee spent two seasons at Bologna, scoring 14 goals in 58 appearances across all competitions.

He inspired Bologna’s Champions League qualification last season with 11 Serie A goals in 34 matches.

The 23-year-old has signed a contract until June 2029 at Old Trafford.
