Bologna director Claudio Fenucci confirms they have ‘made a new proposal and want to keep’ Nico Dominguez, despite interest from Milan, Fiorentina, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder is only under contract until the end of this season and has so far rejected attempts to pin him down to a new deal.

This has prompted approaches from several clubs, such as Milan and Fiorentina within Serie A, while outside of it there has been strong interest from Turkish sides Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

However, Bologna seem determined not to make a sale this summer and are back in negotiations with his agent.

“We made a new proposal to Nico, an important proposal worthy of his status as captain of Bologna, and we are waiting for his response,” CEO Fenucci declared in a press conference this afternoon.

“We want to keep him here because he is a player who still has important prospects.”

The 25-year-old has 11 senior caps for Argentina, scoring one goal, and has been at Bologna since the summer of 2019 when he made the move from Velez Sarsfield for circa €8.5m.

As part of that agreement, Velez Sarsfield are due 25 per cent of the sell-on fee.
