Vincenzo Italiano has made just one alteration to his Bologna squad ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield, leaving out the injured Tommaso Pobega.

Wednesday’s trip to Liverpool will be Bologna’s first away match in the Champions League or European Cup since the 1960s. The Rossoblu started their 2024-25 campaign with a 0-0 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk, while Liverpool secured a 3-1 victory away against Paulo Fonseca’s Milan

Italiano is expected to go full strength for Wednesday night’s match under the lights at Anfield, with Dan Ndoye and Riccardo Orsolini the frontrunners to start on the wings, flanking either Santiago Castro or Thijs Dallinga.

Remo Freuler and Michel Aebischer are likely to start in midfield and could be joined by either Giovanni Fabbian or Kacper Urbanski.

Stefan Posch and Charalampos Lykogiannis are the preferred full-backs, while Jhon Lucumi, currently suspended in Serie A, is practically guaranteed to start at centre-half.

Kick-off on Wednesday night is scheduled for 20.00 BST.
