Bologna beat Hellas Verona 1-0 with a well-taken Riccardo Orsolini strike after an emotional minute’s silence for Sinisa Mihajlovic.

This was the first game that the Rossoblu had played since the tragic death of their former coach over three years after he was first diagnosed with leukaemia.

Adrien Tameze thumped the crossbar early on at the Stadio Bentegodi, but the only goal of the game was Orsolini sliding in to meet a ball over the top on the volley.

Roberto Soriano also forced a difficult save and Michel Aebischer thumped the woodwork, as the two clubs warm up for the return of Serie A on January 4.
