Remo Freuler has already arrived in Italy to undergo his medical with Bologna, while Nico Dominguez will join Nottingham Forest.

Bologna and Forest have agreed on a swap deal involving two of their central midfielders, Dominguez and Freuler, multiple sources in Italy claim.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Dominguez will move to England for a fee close to €10m. As per La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, the fee for Bologna will be slightly higher, in the region of €15m.

Freuler will move to the Stadio Dall’Ara on loan with an option to buy and according to Thursday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A side can make his move permanent for €5m in 2024.

Bologna director Giovanni Sartori had already worked with Freuler at Atalanta, before the Swiss midfielder’s move to England a year ago.

Dominguez had been linked with a move to Milan earlier this summer and his contract with Bologna was set to expire in June 2024.
