Bojan Krkic is looking forward to “a new step in my career at Roma and Luis Enrique was very important in my decision.”

The 20-year-old Spain international was sold to the Giallorossi for €12m, but Barcelona will buy him back after two years for €13m, otherwise Roma can cancel out that clause with a further €28m to make the move permanent.

“It is not an easy situation for me and it's bitter-sweet, but I am looking forward to this new step in my career,” explained Bojan in a Press conference.

“I want to prove what I can do. As a youngster I used to dream of triumph with Barcelona and now I'm very happy because another club is giving me a chance. It'll be very exciting to play alongside Francesco Totti.

“My objective is to be happy by playing football and rediscover that joy I've lost recently under Pep Guardiola.

“As you all know, in recent years there hasn't been much faith in me, nor consistent playing time to prove what I can do. Whether I trained well or badly, it didn't matter, as I still wasn't picked. There were some unfair decisions and that's one of the reasons why I opted to leave.”

Bojan was targeted by Roma the moment they signed former Barcelona B Coach Luis Enrique.

“Enrique's presence was very important in my decision, as he showed great affection and recognition, so I'm very grateful to him,” continued Bojan.

“With the interest shown in me over the last month, Roma have already won over a piece of my heart. Their fans are just as passionate as Barça supporters.”

Unless Roma pay €28m in the summer of 2013, Bojan will return to the Nou Camp.

“Anything can happen. Returning doesn't depend on me, as it all depends on how I play and what I can prove.”
