The 29-year-old has only been capped once by Spain and returned to Barcelona after an unsuccessful stint on loan at Milan, but an immediate loan deal at Ajax followed in 2013.

That’s where he first met Inter’s new star and he remembers the Denmark international very well.

“I arrived at Ajax in 2013 and shortly thereafter, he moved to Tottenham,” Bojan told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

After his one season in Holland, Bojan moved to Stoke in the Premier League, where he was destined to face his former teammate.

“In the Premier League, when I was at Stoke, I played against him several time,” he said. “We are talking about a pure talent. It’s not easy in Italy, be a little patient with him. I’m convinced he will do well.”

During his two years in Italy, Bojan played 52 games in Serie A, contributing seven goals in his 33 appearances at Roma and scoring three in 19 games at Milan.
