Andrea Bocelli will sing Nessun Dorma at the opening Euro 2020 ceremony at the Stadio Olimpico ahead of Italy v Turkey tomorrow evening.

The ceremony starts at 19.35 UK time, with the match kicking off circa 10 minutes later.

The event will include Roma and Lazio club legends Francesco Totti and Alessandro Nesta kicking balls into the stands to mark the return of supporters to the arena, with 16,000 allowed in for the first time since March 2020.

There will be a fly-past from the Frecce Tricolori aerial display team as well as fireworks and pyrotechnics.

Bocelli will sing Nessun Dorma, which many still associate with Italia ’90 when performed by Luciano Pavarotti.

He is a huge football fan and famously also sang at the Leicester City Premier League title celebration alongside Claudio Ranieri.
