Boca: ‘Osvaldo wants us, but…’

QPR raise their offer for Daniel Osvaldo, but Boca Juniors confirm the Inter outcast “wants to join us.”

The striker is owned by Southampton, but half-way through a loan spell at Inter.

He is persona non grata at San Siro after attempting to attack teammate Mauro Icardi during a game and going AWOL from training for two days.

Osvaldo is suing Inter for not allowing him into training, while the club is suing him for breach of contract and damages to image rights.

Now that Juventus have signed Alessandro Matri on loan for the rest of the season, Osvaldo has to find a different club.

“He wants to join us, but there are some problems on a contractual level. We’ll see over the next few days,” Boca Juniors President Daniel Angelici told Radio La Red.

The transfer window in Argentina doesn't close until February 15, so there is still time for them to sort out a deal later on.

Osvaldo is a huge Boca fan and recently tweeted while he was watching one of their games on television in the middle of the night in Italy.

There had also been some reports that Fernando Gago would be handed over to Inter in a straight swap deal, but that was dispelled by Boca consultant Ivan Reggiani on FCInterNews.

According to reports from English media, QPR have made another approach for Osvaldo after he rejected them last week.

However, he does not seem intent on a return to England and would prefer to either stay in Italy or go to Argentina, the country where he grew up.
