Boca Juniors are intensifying their negotiations with both Inter and Gary Medel for the Chile international.
Sources from the Argentine club told El Mercurio newspaper that Medel “is our first option for the midfield. We are negotiating directly with him and with Inter.
“We are at an advanced stage and hope to finalise the deal soon. Boca are the reigning champions and must reinforce like the big club they are.”

It would be a return to Boca for Medel, who already played there from August 2009 to January 2011 on loan from Universidad Catolica.
He was sold to Inter in the summer of 2014 for €8m and was used in both midfield and centre-back roles.
Medel turns 30 in August and his contract with the Nerazzurri is due to expire in June 2018.
