Sebastian Battaglia, coach of Boca Juniors, highlighted that Arturo Vidal would ‘give a lot to the team’ should he arrive from Inter this summer.

The Nerazzurri are keen to re-home the 35-year-old Chilean this summer, ready to rejuvenate Simone Inzaghi’s midfield and free up their wage bill a little. Vidal only made two Serie A starts in the season just gone under Inzaghi, mostly playing a bit-part role off the bench.

Speaking via Calciomercato.com, Battaglia gave his thoughts on Vidal and a possible deal for the Inter midfielder.

“A player of his level would be good for the whole of Argentinian football. He has a lot of experience, we know he can give a lot to the team.

“He would give us a leap in quality. We’ll see if a deal progresses and if, if it does, the time will come to talk to him. Today there was no opportunity, I don’t know what his situation is.”

The 35-year-old Vidal joined Inter in September 2020 from Barcelona, being a much-wanted player by Antonio Conte. He’s made 71 appearances for the club since his arrival, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

The Chilean midfielder is still contracted to the club for another year and he reportedly earns around €6m net per season, a fairly hefty amount for a squad player.
