Gattuso will be available on a free transfer given that his contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will expire in June.

Gattuso has admitted that he’d like a return to Glasgow Rangers after rejecting the opportunity of a new one-year deal with the Diavolo.

“Gattuso is a player we really like and the doors to our squad are always open for a player as prestigious as he is,” Boca sporting director Pablo Budna told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m presently in Italy where I have the chance to form relationships with Italian clubs. Why would we not be interested in Gattuso?”

Gattuso, who played in just seven games this season, has stated that he wants to join a club that will make him “feel alive” again.

The 2006 World Cup winner is now 34.
