Zvonimir Boban has admitted that he was “very disappointed” by Milan’s defeat to Inter and urged the squad to show signs of progress “as quickly as possible”.

Boban was in high spirits before the derby, but the Rossoneri were ultimately outplayed by Inter, losing 2-0 to their city rivals.

“We’re very disappointed about the derby because we were beaten,” said the club chief at the FIFA Football Awards in Milan last night.

“We’re very disappointed about the derby because we were beaten,” said the club chief at the FIFA Football Awards in Milan last night.

“Still, we’ll do better and we’re confident. We’ll do everything we can because the team must play like the fans and us all expect, and like the Coach expects too.

“We’re a work in progress: but it’s better that we do it as quickly as possible.”

His comments come less than a day after it was reported the Diavolo were sticking with Coach Marco Giampaolo.
