Blackpool hope for Ince U-turn

Blackpool would stand to lose out on around £8m should Tom Ince decide to move to Inter.

The 22-year-old has been in Italy in recent days holding talks with the Nerazzurri over a possible move to San Siro, and has now returned home to weigh up his options.

Should the attacking midfielder decide to follow in the footsteps of father Paul Ince and join Walter Mazzarri’s team, Inter would only have to fork out £155,000 in compensation fees to secure his services.

This is due to the fact the former Liverpool youngster is out of contract with the Seasiders this summer. However, it is reported by the Daily Mail that if Ince were to instead join another English club, Blackpool would be able to command compensation of £8m due to rules regarding players under the age of 23.

The player spent the second half of the season on-loan at Crystal Palace and while the likes of Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle are all said to be interested in signing him, it is seen as unlikely that they would want to part with the required sum of money.

Instead, it seems far more likely Ince will move abroad. Inter are the clear favourites to secure his signature while Benfica, Monaco and Olympiakos are all also said to be keen.

His impending departure from the Championship side will bring to an end what has been an increasingly strained relationship between the club and the Ince family.

Paul Ince was sacked as the Tangerines’ manager in January by text message.
