Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon says his side will not rush things in their attempts to strengthen their squad.
Rafa Benitez’s team finished third in Serie A this season but have been linked with a host of new players as they look to make a more serious challenge for the Scudetto next term.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the 42-year-old explained that while is always exciting to announce arrivals, any new faces at the club must have the characteristics needed to be a success at San Paolo.
“Even back in January we were very excited to be getting Andujar, now it’s the same for Koulibaly even though we haven’t officially confirmed his arrival,” Bigon said.
“We are always working to improve with an eye to the future, we want to win things and create a competitive team.
“Instead of the age of any particular player, the most important aspect is to achieve targets and for players to have the motivation to put the Azzurri shirt on with a lot of enthusiasm.
“We have more objectives and more opportunities but we will not rush. The target is to always bring in important players who will improve our squad even more.
“I think that the important thing is to have in mind the characteristics the players we want to bring in should have.
“We will look to find the right player for the right position in our team. The market is long and we need to work without being in a rush.”
