There is tension in the air after a 2-0 Europa League defeat to Young Boys, which saw the team bus attacked by their own fans in Berne.

“We have barred players from talking to the media ahead of this game to ensure they relax and can focus after a difficult and intense week,” Bigon told Sky Sport Italia.

“Some of the reports on what happened in Berne were accurate, some were not. I prefer not to comment. I can only say there is no split between the team and the fans. It was just a small group in Switzerland who protested in what I would say is an exaggerated fashion.”

There are only 25,000 spectators at Napoli-Verona, confirming the attendances have plummeted this season.
