Napoli director Riccardo Bigon believes tonight’s Europa League game with Slovan Bratislava is “a chance to show our unity.”

It kicks off in Slovakia at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT), click here for the line-ups.

“This match will give us the chance to show our unity, just as we did against Sassuolo,” Bigon told Mediaset Premium.

“It is an important game for qualification in the Europa League. There is a big atmosphere here, as for Slovan Bratislava it is almost the match of the year for them.”

Bigon was asked about Rafa Benitez’s squad rotation, including the decision to rest Gonzalo Higuain and leave Michu in the stands.

“I don’t wish to give any opinions on the line-up,” he replied. “It is only normal that in a season with many commitments, players need to have some breathing space.

“As for Michu, we have two players for every position in attack, so it’s normal one of the various forwards will be left out.”

This is a special night for Marek Hamsik, who is facing his former club in his home country Slovakia.

“Marek is a symbol of Napoli and today becomes the player with the most European appearances for this club. I hope all negative stories on him can be silenced as soon as possible.”
