Biglia was speaking to CNN Radio about living in Italy during the on going lockdown of the country.

“Football is a sport in which many interests are at stake but now there are other priorities,” Biglia told the broadcaster.

“The players have to put their heads up and say that football must be stopped because we are not immune.”

The Argentine midfielder was critical of Italy’s initial reaction in dealing with the problem.

“Not only have they underestimated the problem but people didn’t follow the rules.

“We have come to the verge of collapse, where today doctors are working tirelessly.

“Not only do people die with the virus, but so do people with illnesses who cannot have adequate care.

“Because of the coronavirus, other people are left aside.”
