Marcello Lippi and Walter Mazzarri had been touted as possible replacements, but now both Sky and La Repubblica insist Marcelo Bielsa is favourite.
It’s thought the fiery Argentinian tactician is only looking for a six-month role, an ideal situation for the Giallorossi, who want to take their time should they have to appoint a new Coach.
Bielsa would therefore come in to guide the Lupi through the rest of the season, giving the board time to sound-out a long-term replacement.
Known as El Loco [the madman] Bielsa is famed for his tactical acumen and attention to detail, but also his volatile character.
