Jonathan Biabiany was “thankful” to Inter and Roberto Mancini, as a goal marked the end of his “difficult year.”

The winger was out of action for a year and almost had to retire when a cardiac arrhythmia was discovered during a routine medical in August 2014.

He got the all-clear to resume training in May and found the net in a 4-0 defeat of Frosinone, his first Serie A start.

“It has been a difficult year and for a while there were no certainties about anything,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We then realised it just needed a bit of time and I thank everyone who helped me.

“After a year out I also thank Mancini, who puts his faith in me. I always try to give my all and be ready when needed.

“I dedicate the goal to my family and above all my wife.”
