Inter are looking around for a replacement for Francesco Acerbi and have set their sights on talented Bologna centre back Sam Beukema.

The Nerazzurri are preparing to fight on multiple fronts next season as they gear up to compete in Serie A, the Champions League and the revamped Club World Cup. Their busy schedule has pushed the club to look for cover across the pitch, wanting to give Simone Inzaghi flexibility.

Inter are planning to shake up their defence in the summer and will carefully evaluate the positions of aging veterans Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij. Both players have contracts expiring in June 2025, prompting the club to start looking around for replacements.

Beukema on the radar

Corriere dello Sport via TMW details how Inter did consider a move for Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno but moved away due to the Granata’s valuation of their defender, so now they’ve turned attention to Bologna’s Beukema.

The 25-year-old Dutch defender, who joined the Rossoblu from AZ Alkmaar last summer for just €9m, has impressed in his debut season under Thiago Motta, seeing over 2500 minutes of action across 28 games.

Contracted to Bologna to June 2027, Beukema has an estimated price tag of €20-25m and talks between the two clubs could be opened in the coming months.
