Paul Pogba is training alone, splitting his time between Turin and Paris, after testing positive in a recent doping test.
La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the 30-year-old Frenchman tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone following Juventus’ recent 3-0 win over Udinese.
He was suspended by the anti-doping tribunal and has submitted a counter-analysis of his incriminated urine sample, which won’t be completed until October 5.
The apparent source of Pogba’s positive doping test is a supplement purchased in the United States on the advice of a local doctor, done without the knowledge of Juventus. Should the counter-analysis confirm the positivity of his test, he could be banned for up to four years.
Juventus have suspended Pogba, lowering his salary from €8m net per season to the minimum €40,000 gross, and he is unable to train at the club’s sports centre in Continassa.
The French midfielder – who lives in the Turin villa once owned by Cristiano Ronaldo – splits his time between the Piedmont capital and Paris, carrying out gym and pool work in order to try and maintain his match fitness.
