Best Serie A club, coach and more: Gran Galà del Calcio nominees announced

The Italian Footballers’ Federation (AIC) announced the Gran Galà del Calcio nominees for the 2021-22 campaign.

The ceremony will take place on October 17 and will see Serie A players pick among their colleagues for the best players of last season.

Milan won their first title in 11 years so they are among the nominees for the best club along with Inter (runners-up) and Roma, who ended out of the top four but won the Conference League.

There are many representatives of the Rossoneri, including coach Stefano Pioli, goalkeeper Mike Maignan, defenders Theo Hernandez and Fikayo Tomori, midfielder Sandro Tonali and striker Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese star was named Best Serie A Player for 2021-22 by Lega Serie A at the end of last season.

Here are the AIC nominees for the upcoming Gran Galà del Calcio.

Best goalkeeper: Handanovic, Maignan, Vicario.

Best defender: Cuadrado, Di Lorenzo, Theo Hernandez, Skriniar, Tomori, Bremer, Dumfries, Koulibaly.

Best midfielder: Brozovic, Tonali, Perisic, Kessie, Milinkovic-Savic, Calhanoglu, Pellegrini, Barella.

Best striker: Immobile, Lautaro Martinez, Osimhen, Vlahovic, Leao, Dybala.

Best coach: Pioli, Inzaghi, Mourinho.

Best referee: Doveri, Orsato, Mariani.

Best Serie B youngster: Gatti, Carnesecchi, Zerbin.

Best Serie A club: Inter, Milan, Roma.
