Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret was the best Italian player in Serie A Round 4, according to Italian sports papers.
Napoli secured a 4-0 away win in Cagliari on Sunday, but the Partenopei would have conceded at least twice if it wasn’t for their goalkeeper Meret.
The 27-year-old was rated 7.5/10 on average by Italian sports papers and was the best national team player over the weekend.
Two other Azzurri, Alessandro Buongiorno and Giovanni Di Lorenzo, received high ratings at the Unipol Domus, 7/10 each, the same rating as Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui, Fiorentina’s Moise Kean, Como’s Patrick Cutrone and Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca who all got their names on the scoresheet in the latest Serie A round.
Federico Gatti (Juventus) was another standout performer, even though Empoli held the Bianconeri to a 0-0 stalemate. Genoa keeper Pierluigi Gollini contributed to Genoa’s 1-1 home draw against Roma and was also rated 7/10 on average.
