Besiktas ready to welcome Milan forward Rebic

Milan forward Ante Rebic will fly to Istanbul today to complete his move to Besiktas, ready to undergo his medicals.

The 29-year-old Croatian forward has been cut from Stefano Pioli’s squad, having failed to impress over the last two campaigns. The club are in the early stages of their post-Paolo Maldini era and are working to push the project in a new direction.

Milan have already brought in seven players this summer and could sign Valencia’s Yunus Musah as well, so they’ve also been working to cut the redundancies from their squad.

As highlighted by TMW and Gianluca Di Marzio, Rebic is ready to leave Milan for Istanbul today, where he’ll undergo his medicals with Besiktas before putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.

The deal is worth around €2m total for the Rossoneri – a €500,000 fixed fee with €1.5m in performance-related add-ons. Whilst the fee is relatively low, it does help lower the club’s wage bill.
