Besiktas are on the hunt for last minute reinforcements and have launched an attempt to sign Toronto FC winger Lorenzo Insigne, reports detail.
The Turkish transfer window comes to a close on February 9, allowing the Istanbul giants to make some late moves. Talks are currently ongoing for Roma midfielder Renato Sanches and other moves are now being worked on as well.
Insigne’s time at Toronto has taken a downward turn and the player is now keen to return to Europe in the near future. Last season, he managed just four goals and four assists in 1522 minutes of action across 20 MLS matches, a disappointing return considering his €7.5m net per season wages.
As reported by TMW, Besiktas are negotiating for James Rodriguez but are struggling to find an agreement with Sao Paolo, so are now starting to place their focus on alternative options.
Insigne is at or near the top of their list and the Turkish side are now trying to find a deal for the Toronto winger, whose contract expires in June 2026.
