Radja Nainggolan may surprisingly not return to Cagliari as Besiktas are reportedly in advanced talks to sign the Inter midfielder.

Cagliari are interested in taking Nainggolan back to the Sardegna Arena for the fourth time in his career, but Turkish side Besiktas have pounced on the 33-year-old.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Belgian is open to moving to Turkey, so much so his agent Alessandro Beltrami has tasked the intermediary Hakan Korkmaz to organize a ‘resolutive’ meeting with the board of the Turkish club.

According to the report, Besiktas are ready to offer Nainggolan a two-year €3m-a-year dal.

Nainggolan would prefer a return to Sardinia, but talks with the Rossoblu and Inter have been put on hold.

The former Roma man has not agreed personal terms with Cagliari and Inter would need to give him severance pay, ending his contract by mutual agreement, to allow him to move to Sardinia again.

If Nainggolan joins Besiktas, he will reunite with his former Roma teammates Salih Uçan and Adem Ljajic.
