Juventus have decided that they will not renew Federico Bernardeschi’s contract before it expires at the end of this season.

The 28-year-old Italian winger has featured consistently this season under coach Massimiliano Allegri, especially after Federico Chiesa’s injury, but he’s failed to shine in the Piedmont capital, only scoring one goal and providing three assists in 23 Serie A appearances this campaign.

As reported by Sky Sports Italia, Juventus have no intention of offering a new contract to Bernardeschi, meaning that he’ll leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. There seems to be no chance for the former Fiorentina man to remain at the club and he’s no longer in their plans.

The 28-year-old Bernardeschi has always been a divisive figure for Juventus fans following his arrival from Fiorentina back in 2017, with many feeling that he never lived up to the potential shown in Florence. He has scored 12 goals and provided 24 assists in 177 appearances across his five years in Turin.

20 thought on “Bernardeschi’s contract with Juve won’t be renewed”
  1. “Those who think he has never lived up to his expectations…” as opposed to who? Those who do think he has?

  2. Bye bye! So disappointed in Bernardesci. To think this guy was heralded as the new Totti… Definitely not Francesco… Maybe an Antonio Totti who works in accounts. Vai dove devi andare, vai…

  3. So let me get this straight… instead of moving Ramsey, Rabiot, Arthur and bringing adequate players (and by that solving the biggest issue of this team – the midfield)… Juve will let go FOR FREE: Dybala, Bernardeschi and Chiellini, and will probably need to spend a ton of money to replace them and in the end will leave the midfield the same as they’ll have no money left 🙁

  4. Relax @dra. PhD Max, visionary of the world and commander of the back, back, down, down, side to side ball has a master plan. Trust the grandad of world football and be tranquil that Juventus will be defending their crown of 4th spot masters for the third year in a row come next season. Berna is no big loss and if he wants he can go to Inter as it will make little difference. Dybala is the bigger worry as he has real talent that maybe can be unlocked with better players around him at Inter, new hunger and a point to prove.

  5. Excellent news! Now, go for real wingers who are fast and can play along with Chiesa in the bands, like Moussa Diaby and Heung-Min Son.

  6. I truly hope this story is wrong. Berna has always seemed like a shackled player at Juve, a bit like Kulu. He is a better player than what he’s shown with the coach not giving him the freedom to make the occasional mistake.
As for the obviously bu*t-hurt “I hate Lord Allegri and have Foot-in-Mouth” – get a life. If slow ball earnt whichever sorry-a*sed team you support successive multiple scudetti over many years, I don’t think you’d complain.

  7. Berna was never truly allowed to play as a right winger ( just as Kulusevski )
Conte would get the best out of players like these , but Allegri and Pirlo failed to do so

  8. I bet his agent told him he could get more money elsewhere… reminds me of a certain No. 10… don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

  9. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bernardeschi suddenly explodes like his old self after leaving Juve. Under Allegri Juve is basically an attacker’s hell. Allegri even made Vlahovic less deadly and Chiesa only managed 2 goals before his injury. It’s unfortunate that the only consistent game time Bernardeschi has gotten is under such a dull and stubborn manager.

  10. Berna was a big fish in a small pond at Fiorentina. Multiple managers (Allegri, Sarri, Pirlo, Mancini) haven’t got anything particularly useful out of him. Injury prone and inconsistent. Definitely not what Juve need.

  11. Kulusevski scored 7 in his first year at Juve, Bernardeschi hasn’t done that in 4 years, the guy slows everything down and constantly gives the ball away he is terrible, just Rabiot, Ramsey, Arthur, Sandro to be sold now and the clear out had begun.

  12. Berna will explode elsewhere just like Ramsey is doing at Rangers. Juve have enough deadwood to make a 5th Nov bonfire. Please go to Inter.

  13. Bernardeschi has no place at Inter, first because he is useless, second Inter is not using wingers like his position.
