Bernardeschi would have to accept lower salary for renewal with Juventus

Juventus are willing to renew Federico Bernardeschi’s contract but only if he accepts a lower salary.

The 27-year-old Italian winger’s current deal is set to expire at the end of this season and coach Massimiliano Allegri is a fan of the player, who was part of the Italy squad during their successful Euro 2020 run, but there is a key detail regarding a possible contract renewal.

As reported by Calciomercato, Juventus are open to renewing his deal but only on the condition that he accepts a lower salary. The player currently earns around €4m net per season but this would likely drop to €2.5-3m including add-ons.

Bernardeschi is a player who divides Bianconeri fans – until last summer he was often booed by the fans and blamed for the team’s attacking woes, but things have changed a little since then. Now the fans are split, with some still thinking that he’s not up to the level of Juventus and others believing him to be one of the most effective players under Allegri.
