Federico Bernardeschi feels both he and Juventus ‘really needed’ this win over Fiorentina to set up a Coppa Italia Final with Inter. ‘The best teams go all the way.’

The Old Lady already had a 1-0 first leg advantage, but made it stick with Federico Bernardeschi making the most of a Bartlomiej Dragowski howler and Danilo meeting the Juan Cuadrado pull-back in stoppages.

It means the Bianconeri will defend the Coppa Italia, which they won last season, in the Final against Inter at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on May 11.

Coppa Italia Semi-Final | Juventus 2-0 Fiorentina (3-0 agg): Bernardeschi books Final

This was Bernardeschi’s 12th goal in the Juventus jersey, two of them against his old club Fiorentina.

“I am happy, I hadn’t really played in three months as I had this complicated injury, but I have recovered now and am glad we were able to secure the Final,” Bernardeschi told Mediaset.

“We really needed this evening in front of our fans, as they fire you up so much.”

Inter await Juventus in the Final, having already beaten the Bianconeri 2-1 in extra time for the Supercoppa Italiana in January.

“The best sides go all the way. Inter are a very strong team and so are Juventus.”

Considering Bernardeschi’s contract expires on June 30 and negotiations for an extension appear to have fallen apart, was this goal a way of saying goodbye?

“No, absolutely not. There is a season to be concluded, an objective to be achieved and that is what’s important.”

  1. Ironic enough how Juve would only offer you low salary…return to Viola if the are in Champions League next year…you might get extra and extra playing times for sure

  2. Berna should also check into a rehab center after being subjected to PhD Max and his prison ball. At least young Kulu has been reprieved and sent on parole to boot camp Conte and look how quick it was to get him into shape mentally.
