Federico Bernardeschi confirms he’d love to return to Juventus and insists people should focus on Federico Chiesa’s ‘dirty work’ rather than expecting goals and assists in every game.

The Toronto FC winger spoke to La Domenica Sportiva on Sunday, two days after Juventus’ 2-1 win over Monza.

Bernardeschi is spending holidays in Italy as his team have failed to qualify for the MLS play-offs. He visited Juventus’ training ground last week when he told a fan that he’d like to return to the Allianz Stadium in the January transfer window.

The former Fiorentina winger confirmed his desire on Sunday.

“Juventus are in my heart, a piece of my heart is still here, let’s see, but I’d be happy to return,” he said as quoted by Ilbianconero.com.

Bernardeschi played with Chiesa at Fiorentina and Juventus and briefly spoke about his former teammate as well.

“I saw him playing excellent games for Juventus, not only with the national team,” argued Berna.

“People always expect goals or assists, but they should focus more on his dirty work.”

Chiesa has four goals and two assists in 13 Serie A appearances this season but has mostly played as a centre forward while Italy coach Luciano Spalletti plays the 26-year-old as a left winger where Chiesa seems more effective.
