Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza have gained their first Serie A promotion in their history, but the former Milan owner was caught sleeping after the Tuscans had scored a late goal in the second half.

Monza needed extra time to beat Pisa 4-3 in the second leg of the Serie B playoffs Final last night, earning the first Serie A promotion in their history.

The Tuscans scored a late goal in the second half, but Berlusconi didn’t seem too bothered as he was caught sleeping in the stands close to his partner Marta Fascina and the son of club director Adriano Galliani.

The picture of Berlusconi sleeping went viral in Italy across all social media platforms. The former Italy Prime Minister regained consciousness again in the extra time but his celebrations were not excessive after Monza’s fourth goal during extra time.

  1. Happy to have the old patron back.

He did a lot for us, and for that we will always be a friend to him in our hearts…but unfortunately Milan and Monza on the field will be war…

  2. I mean, he’s 85 years old. One would have to excuse him for falling sleep anywhere and anytime.
