Over the last couple of days, Berlusconi has made several comments suggesting the deal is not close to a conclusion.
He even made offensive ‘jokes’ about “Chinese Communists eating babies during a famine” while speaking to punters at a political rally.
The negotiations with these Chinese investors is exclusive until June 15, but Berlusconi and the group have a clause allowing them to walk away before then without a penalty.
The President has also repeatedly stated that if the sale doesn’t go through, he will build a Milan squad based on Italian youth with Cristian Brocchi as Coach.
