Milan President Silvio Berlusconi said Roberto Mancini “was wrong” to take Maurizio Sarri’s alleged insults to the media.

Inter boss Mancini was furious after last night’s 2-0 Coppa Italia victory over Napoli and claimed Coach Sarri aimed homophobic slurs at him in a touchline row.

“These things happen in football,” Berlusconi told reporters at a book presentation.

“Was Mancini wrong to talk about it in public? I think so, yes.”

Berlusconi, the former Prime Minister of Italy, is not himself new to public gaffes.
