Berlusconi’s Forza Italia political party were overtaken by Lega Nord for the first time as the largest of Italy’s centre-right, but the 82-year-old blamed Li for his defeat, while asserting ‘I’ll be the only club President who has won so much’.

Berlusconi’s Forza Italia political party were overtaken by Lega Nord for the first time as the largest of Italy’s centre-right, but the 82-year-old blamed Li for his defeat, while asserting ‘I’ll be the only club President who has won so much’.
“Our polls showed us how 2.5m Milan fans didn’t vote for me so as to punish me for having delivered Milan a successor who wasn’t very capable,” he told reporters.
“They were and are still angry with me but after 30 years, I couldn’t run them anymore because of the workload.
“I am and will be, I believe, the club President who has won so much in football.”
