Club President Silvio Berlusconi has turned his attention back to the interest of Chinese investors looking to buy Milan this summer.

Berlusconi had appeared close to an agreement with Thai broker Bee Taechaubol, but is reportedly now in continued contact with Chinese representatives.

Earlier this week he claimed there were three different groups from China interested in investing in the San Siro side.

Corriere della Sera believes that the President spent yesterday in discussions with representatives of the Apec foundation, Xiao Wunan and Wang Xingxian.

Alberto Forchiello, founder of Mandarin Capital Partners and the Asia Observatory, explained that these people will not invest, but are creating the right environment for investment.

“They carry out a sort of parallel diplomacy,” he said.

Forchiello explained that Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping could arrive in Milan at the time of the Expo and sign an agreement with Berlusconi to acquire the Rossoneri.

Berlusconi’s attentions are believed to currently be focused on the regional elections taking place on May 31, but he apparently wants a decision made by early June.

This would allow the Chinese group some time to consider its offer as well as giving Vice-President Adriano Galliani time to rebuild the squad for next season.
