Beppe Bergomi

Former Inter defender Giuseppe Bergomi felt the Nerazzurri ‘had total control’ against Juventus. ‘With Romelu Lukaku this game ends 3-0’.

Juventus equalised at the 89th minute, when Paulo Dybala converted a penalty to cancel out Edin Dzeko’s opening goal.

Bergomi claimed Simone Inzaghi’s men dominated the match at San Siro, but Max Allegri and Juventus somehow still returned with a point.

The former centre-back pointed at the attacking department and felt something was missing, highlighting Lukaku’s farewell this summer.

The Belgian left Inter after two seasons and 64 goals in 95 competitive games and Bergomi said he would have made the difference against the Bianconeri on Sunday.

“Inter did better than Juventus, I don’t remember any shots on goal by the Bianconeri,” Bergomi told Sky Sport Italia.

“With Lukaku, this game end 3-0. I’m convinced of it. The only one that was really engaged was [Nicolò] Barella and, in fact, he had cramps at the end of the game.

“Centrally, the strikers now work in a different way, the player who gives depth is missing. But I still saw an Inter in total control.”

The penalty was decisive in the end and Bergomi claimed it was the only ‘real danger’ from the Old Lady.

“If that episode hadn’t arrived, I didn’t see any real danger, even if the Nerazzurri had lowered themselves.”

  1. Omg i can’t believe the stupidity of this statement…
Sure! And with Pirlo and Del Piero it would have ended 4-3. Happy now?

  2. Bergomi must be drinking too much. Lukaku has a poor scoring record against Juve and secondly, the match stats don’t show any domination by Inter:
Shots on Target Juve 4, Inter 2
Shots off target Juve 10, Inter 5
    Saves Juve 1, Inter 3
    Possession Juve 50%, Inter 50%
Lukaku is a fraud – scores against small teams but goes missing in the big ones – Bonucci and Chiellini always have him in their back pockets even when Italy played Belgium or Juve played Chelsea.

  3. Maybe he meant if dybala and Chiesa started it would’ve been 3-0? That certainly seems more reflective of reality and how the game looked once he subbed them in🤷🏻‍♂️
Not sure what LUKAKU and his zero goals from open play v Juve would’ve impacted.

  4. LOL!!! I would be ashamed of coming on TV and making these sorts of comments. I would question my own intelligence!!!

  5. I Am a Milan fan and enjoying Serie A as entertainment. I watched the match and I think the match was pretty much balanced.
what is the point talking about a player that has already left in a present match?
Yes, Lukaku won you a trophy, but he left for money and Bergomi looks very proud of him

  6. I see comments like this and wonder what game others were watching. Their lone goal came when Juve had 10 men on the field, hit the bar, and the player (while amazing skill to put it in) was in an offside position when the original shot was taken (yes barely, but they took back for less on Ronaldo’s goal vs Udi)

Did anyone notice Martinez at all during the game. He was marked by the masters.

are you blind? or the lines were not clear enough? original shot? what other shots were there? joker
