Sampdoria defender Bartosz Bereszynski has revealed what it was like to live with coronavirus, from having high fevers to worrying about loved ones.

Bereszynski was among the Samp contingent to test positive for COVID-19, but the Pole has since been given the all-clear along with the rest of his teammates.

“I expected it in a way,” he told Canal+.

“Even before contracting the virus, a teammate said they had it and 2-3 others were experiencing high fevers.

“I also experienced these problems. When you discover you have something like this, it hits you. I immediately started to worry about my loved ones.

“That’s why we’ve limited our contact to a minimum. It was said that those infected were experiencing respiratory problems, but luckily I didn’t.

“I felt tired for the first two weeks, but it’s normal when your body is weakened by the disease.

“On Monday I covered 7km in about half-an-hour, so I think it’s a good stepping stone towards the first training session.

“I don’t feel any consequences of the virus.”
