Berardi earns Salah comparison

Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi has reached double figures for goals and assists this season, earning comparison with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

The Italy international has scored 12 goals and delivered 14 assists in 26 Serie A games this season. He has scored at least 10 goals for the third season in a row, becoming the most decisive player in Italy’s top flight.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has similar stats this season with 19 goals and 10 assists in 25 Premier League appearances. Calciomercato.com compares Berardi to Salah adding that Napoli, Roma and Milan have set their sights on the Italian winger.

According to the report, Berardi’s priority is to remain in Serie A, so he won’t consider calls from Spain or England. The 27-year-old had received an offer from Fiorentina in the summer and during the January transfer window, but it was not high enough to convince Sassuolo to sell their star.

“Berardi has grown at Sassuolo and there is a special bond with him. He is a champion and has become more mature,” Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali said last week.

“He is one of the best Italian footballers at the moment, maybe the best one. He may have the ambition to join a top club and we’ll make our assessments with him once we receive an offer. Fiorentina did make their move, but it was not enough and perhaps Berardi needs a top club now.”
