Sassuolo and Italy star Domenico Berardi took to his official Instagram account to apologise after being involved in a row with a Modena fan on Monday.
The Neroverdi suffered a shock elimination from the Coppa Italia and there was tension between the Italy winger and a fan after the game.
Berardi chased the supporter outside the stadium, desperately trying to confront him and the VIDEO has quickly become viral on social media.
The 28-year-old has given his explanation through Instagram, apologising for his behaviour and revealing that the row involved a Modena fan.
“I want to apologise for what happened outside the stadium after the game against Modena,” the Italian winger wrote in an Instagram story.
“We are professionals and, above all, we must be examples for youths and kids. Today I didn’t behave as such.
“That’s because the things that I love the most, such as my wife and my son, were deliberately involved off the pitch, hurting me deeply,” Berardi explained.
“I also renew my apologies to the opposing fans.”
