Rodrigo Bentancur has now scored more goals for Tottenham Hotspur this season than in his five years at Juventus.
The 25-year-old Uruguay international has been a revelation since making the move to Spurs in January 2022 for €19m plus up to another €6m in performance-related bonuses.
This term has been particularly impressive, as he found the net five times between the Premier League and Champions League, along with two assists, in a total 21 competitive appearances.
Incredibly, Bentancur spent five years at Juventus and played in 181 games for the club, yet scored a grand total of three goals.
There were at least 18 assists and he was sent off on three occasions, in every situation for a double yellow card.
Bianconeri supporters were already frustrated at seeing how Dejan Kulusevski flourished following the move to Tottenham, but Bentancur has been equally surprising.
He scored a Premier League brace today in the 4-3 win over Leeds United, a match that also saw Italy international Willy Gnonto make his first Premier League start.
