Ismael Bennacer has put pen to paper on a new contract with Milan, extending his stay with the club to June 2027.

The 25-year-old Algerian midfielder joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2019 from Empoli for around €17.2m and grew into a key part of Stefano Pioli’s squad in the Lombardy capital. Bennacer is a crucial element of proceedings in Milan and has formed a formidable midfield partnership with Sandro Tonali.

As confirmed by the club, Bennacer has now signed his contract renewal with Milan, tying him to the club until June 2027. His new deal will see him earn around €4.2m net per season plus €300,000 in add-ons. A €50m release clause will become active in the summer of 2024.

Bennacer has made 129 appearances across all competitions for Milan, scoring four goals and providing eight assists. He has recently attracted the attention of a number of top clubs around Europe, including Liverpool and Manchester United.

  1. Great news. He’s really crucial for us as there’s no one else similar to his playing style in the squad. The bad news is that I’m pretty sure that 50m option will be activated by some club come the summer of 2024.
