Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer revealed the Rossoneri 'suffered' in the 3-1 win over Napoli on Sunday. ‘It’s a great team win. We did well’.
Just as Napoli were back in the game through a goal by Dries Mertens, former Rossonero Tiemoue Bakayoko saw red and the Partenopei had to finish an eventful evening with 10 men.
After Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s brace and the late goal by Jens Petter Hauge, Bennacer was satisfied with another three points against a top team, but he admitted it has been a ‘tough’ game in Naples.
“It’s great team win,” Bennacer told Milan TV. “We did well, we suffered but we won and that’s the most important thing.
“We shouldn’t have given them so much space. Then they played with the two strikers and it was tough, but we managed to do well.”
Ibrahimovic, who left the pitch injured towards the end, proved decisive with another brace and the Algerian praised the veteran.
“In every match, he shows that he is a great player,” Bennacer said. “We try to do the best we can, during training he always asks us for great professionalism and to raise our level.”
