Ismael Bennacer believes Milan ‘could’ve done better’ in their 1-1 draw with Atalanta and identifies the problem conceding goals.

The Rossoneri dropped points for the first time this season and confirmed some problems at the back, conceding a Ruslan Malinovskyi strike and equalising with Bennacer after the break.

“I think we could’ve done better and won this game,” Bennacer told DAZN.

Atalanta played well and kept it solid, it was difficult to find spaces to play in. We got a point, now we have to work on our errors so that we can do better.”

Milan have conceded three goals in their two Serie A games so far against Udinese and Atalanta, despite ending last season with a remarkable record at the back. What has changed?

“It’s important we don’t get distracted and lose our man, because concentration is essential.”

The title-holders seemed to improve after bringing on new signings Charles De Ketelaere and Divock Origi.

“They are working well, we will gradually start to gel more as a team.”
