Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer is now just a step away from returning to competitive action for Milan after a long-term layoff through injury and could even be included in the squad for Saturday’s Serie A fixture against Frosinone.

The Algeria international has not featured for the Rossoneri since the first leg of the derby in the Champions League semi-final against rivals Inter

In the following days, Milan confirmed that Bennacer had suffered a serious knee injury, which required surgery and was expected to keep him sidelined for a minimum period of six months.

However, as reported by Calciomercato.com on Thursday afternoon, Bennacer has been involved in full training with the first team group for several sessions.

And, in light of availability concerts for coach Stefano Pioli, a return to the matchday squad could be just around the corner.

According to Thursday’s update, Bennacer could be called upon for Saturday’s Serie A clash against Frosinone at San Siro on Saturday evening.
